Suona is know as the Chinese
Trumpet. It produces a loud and clear notes that can be transmitted a long
distance. In the Ming Dynasty, Qi Xu Guan Emperor (1527~1587) used it to
play military music. In the late Ming Dynasty, Suona played an important
role in Chinese Opera. In the modern China, it became one of the major
discipline in the Collage of Music.
Gao Yin Suona is known as high pitch Suona. It is also know as "Hai Di". It can produced a sharp and clear notes, and is normally used for playing outstanding melody in Orchestra Works. Its structure is simple and consists of a wooden tube with eight drilled holes, a reed as the mouth piece and the steel opening end where notes exit.
Famous Solos Pieces are "Bai Niao Chao Feng", "Yi Zhi Hua", etc.
